Activities

There’s lots to do – You could visit the neighbouring trout farm, explore the area as part of Katot’s 4 x 4 club, or drive down the hill into the local village called De Vlugt, where you can pop in at Harold and Angie’s restaurant - “Angie’s G-Spot”, a popular watering hole in the village - to catch up on local gossip. Of course, Knysna and Plett are a little further afield and make for great day excursions.

Some fun activities on the KRGT estate include:

Game Drives

We offer visiting families and friends an extensive range of self-drive game trails across beautiful, natural landscapes. They are offered with a knowledgeable step-in guide- either in your own 4 x 4 vehicle,
or a supplied and well outfitted company vehicle.

Camping

We offer both tented camps (which are fully equipped), and bush camps (basic). Campsites are situated close to the Keurbooms and Diep Rivers in the heart of the Middle Keurbooms Conservancy. In addition, experience the extensive grounds kloofing up one of the local rivers; visit bushman painting sites; view restoration projects in conservation; see small local villages and travel along historic road passes.

Fishing

Fishing (including fly-fishing), kloofing and swimming- in both the beautiful and clean Keurbooms River & Diep River- is encouraged and included as part of the game trail experience.
Trout fishing is allowed by catch and release only.

Hiking routes

A range of trails following old game and elephant paths continue being developed. Enjoy hiking amongst tame antelope in a remote sanctuary. Choose between short (1-4 hour) hikes, full day hikes or overnight ventures.

Bird Watching

More than 1000 bird species have been recorded in the conservancy. Diverse landscapes and undulating elevations provide an opportunity to fly with some of the great raptors of the skies such as:
Fish Eagle, Black Eagle, Crowned Eagle, Jackal Buzzard and Gymnogene.

Mountain biking

With more than 40km of challenging tracks starting and finishing at the Prince Alfred’s Pass, this activity includes a new venture in bicycle tourism where you can ride to your campsite or chalet and encounter game along the way.
